“One if by land, two if by sea!” Or in our case, three if by SED.  Three years to prepare for redesigned assessments.  Let’s Talk the Same Talk, last September’s CNYCSS workshop, changed the format of our fall event from a formal dinner to a collaborative conversation. This  gave you a chance to get past the jargon of our new standards and meet with colleagues, walking through the Inquiry Toolkit together.  This year extends this opportunity to build community with educators across the region and grade levels. Dr. John Langdon will update us on the latest news from SED’s Content Advisory Panel. Dr. John Langdon and Jen Medwid will share the  revised timeline for implementation of the assessments.  The Inquiry Toolkit conversation will be deepened as educators from the region share their direct experiences, difficulties, and successes in integrating inquiries over the past year. We’ll also take a look at the tentative redesign of the Regents assessments as we  “redefine” and fine tune the methods we use across the grade levels to prepare our students for their future.

Join us and invite your colleagues from all grade levels for an evening of team building and informative conversation.  CNYCSS welcomes all to keep the conversation moving forward as we K-12 strives together to strengthen and enhance our methods of teaching social studies as we prepare for the changing Regents assessments.
