Advocating for Social Studies Education

The Central New York Council for the Social Studies is an affiliate organization of the New York State Council for the Social Studies (NYSCSS) as well as the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS). As such we strive to provide relevant information to our members from both the state and national level.  As an affiliate of NYSCSS we have a seat on the NYSCSS Board and through this position advocate for Social Studies at the state level.  Through our NYSCSS affiliation and through members of our CNYCSS Board we communicate and collaborate with the New York State Education Department and local government officials in Albany. See below for more information.
