After attending a large group general session, participants will be meeting in smaller, content specific groups. These follow-up sessions will be a time for teachers of a specific content (History/Social Studies, Science & Technical Subjects) to come together and explore the possibilities for applying common understandings of the 6 Instructional Shifts and the Common Core Learning Standards into a content-specific classroom and/or current units of study.
Participants will collaborate with other content-specific teachers to explore instructional practices and strategies for teaching course content through literacy. Participants will plan with others to "make-over" ½ a current unit of study.
No additional cost to educators from OCM BOCES Network Team component districts, $570 for OCM BOCES employees or OCM BOCES component Non-Network Team districts and $645 for OCM BOCES Non-component districts.
