NYSUT: Reading Comprehension Strategies

Today, in all areas, students struggle with reading comprehension.  This seminar examines comprehension strategies that can be used to activate prior knowledge in preparation for reading, construct new knowledge during the reading process, and extend student understanding after the reading has been completed.  The highlighted strategies can be utilized and adapted for any subject area with any selected reading material.
