  • 16 Mar 2015
  • 4:00 PM
  • Maxwell Auditorium, Syracuse University

Featuring Yolanda Sealey-Ruiz, assistant professor, and Lalitha Vasudevan, associate professor, Teacher's College, Columbia University

Access to sound educational opportunities continues to be a challenging goal for young people who are already embroiled in the complicated systems of foster care and juvenile justice, whom the facilitators identify as court-involved youth. In this talk, the facilitators will share examples from their experience as co-teachers of a yearlong, participatory seminar in which they bring together graduate students and court-involved youth in an attempt to create opportunities for inquiry, understanding, and support of the young people's educational wellbeing.

This event is free and open to the public.

Free parking available in the University Avenue Garage.
